35mm Canon Rebel with 50mm F1.8 From New Years Weekend

I brought my Canon Rebel G and a few rolls of ISO400 35mm film down to North Wildwood with me to play around with during the weekend of New Years Eve. I love mixing in some film now and usually bring at least one if not two film cameras on any trip I take, which Sandi always yells at me since it usually adds to all the other gear...that we actually need for whatever shoot we're on. I have another blog you can check out on here from a few months ago, about what made me start shooting film. Here are a handful of the shots. I get them developed at Rite Aid right down the street from my house, and have them give me the prints as well as a CD which I upload into Lightroom to use digitally. Enjoy!

Its still missing a few pieces, but it definitely has enough to get started.

I lost my Mom and started Cass Imaging all within the first 3 months of 2012. Cass Imaging was just a pipe dream at this time last year....now its not only a successful photography business, but Sandi has left her full time job to help us keep up with the amount of work we are doing. Crazy...

LENS REVIEW - SIGMA 35MM F1.4 DG HSM - NIKON MOUNT

At Photokina 2012, Sigma announced three new lenses in a reorganization of its lens lineup, consisting of three new catagories...Contemporary, Sports, and Art. The first of these new lenses to be released is the Sigma 35mm  F1.4 DG HSM lens, which falls in the new Art catagory. These new lenses are designed as high-quality alternatives to the camera manufacturers' equivalents at a substantially lower cost, almost half. In the past, Sigma had done a decent job at this, although with some noticeable flaws. Some of their lenses gave up sharpness, had focus issues, or had bad chromatic aberation. This first lens from Sigma's new line-up not only meets the bar...but raises it.
